English translation of the film’s synopsis:

Maurh is a period film set in the late 19th century, during the British era. It is a time of dual servitude for the people of Punjab, who are oppressed by both the British colonial masters and the zamindars, who are cruel landlords.

Jeona Maurh (Ammy Virk) is an ordinary villager who is caught up in the struggle for freedom and justice. His brother, Kishna (Vikramjeet Virk), is a bandit who has taken up arms against the British and the zamindars. When Kishna is executed by the British, Jeona vows to avenge his death.

Jeona joins a group of rebels led by Dogar (Dev Kharoud). Dogar is a ruthless bandit who is more interested in personal gain than in fighting for the people. Jeona soon realizes that Dogar cannot be trusted, and he sets out on his own to fight for the freedom of his people.

Maurh is a powerful and inspiring film that tells the story of a man who is willing to fight for what is right, even in the face of overwhelming odds. It is a reminder that the human spirit is unbreakable, and that freedom is worth fighting for.
